The president of the Football Federation of Cambodia, Sao Sokha, said that the game is not just about the result, but it is part of building the country. He was speaking at the 17th General Assembly of the Football Federation of Cambodia on the morning of March 11 at the Garden City Hotel.
Mr. Sao Sokha said that competition is always about winning or losing, but these results are not the meaning of sports. According to Mr. Sao Sokha, sports play an important role in developing the country and building national and international ties. The president of the Football Federation said: “The main goal of the development of football is not only the result of competition, but also to contribute to building the country through the promotion of welfare, education, discipline. “Morality, mutual respect, unity, friendship, economic relations, culture, tourism.”
Mr. Sao Sokha added that the hosting of the 32nd SEA Games in 2023 is a mirror of progress in all areas such as peace, social security, political stability, economic growth, culture, tourism and sports.
These developments are progressing continuously, which is not different from some countries in the world. The football sector in Cambodia is the same as those countries because it is popular and supported by all levels of the public. According to Mr. Sokha.
At the same conference, the president of the federation also raised 11 points to strengthen and make efforts from 2023 onwards. The 11 directions are: Administration and Management, Infrastructure Development, National and International Competition Organizing, Development of 25 Provinces Associations, Club Development, National Team Development, Nursery and Youth Development, Development Coaching resources, referee development, indoor football development and marketing, communications and fan development.
Mr. Sao Sokha stressed that if you want Cambodian football to be strong, only if you implement these 11 points consistently.
It should be noted that the General Assembly of the Football Federation of Cambodia has 38 members, provincial and municipal football associations and football clubs in Cambodia.
