Manchester United’s glum stars reported for training on Monday to face the wrath of furious manager Erik ten Hag in the aftermath of their 7-0 drubbing by Liverpool.
Beaten 5-0 by Liverpool last season, United’s stars were then given the day off by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – but there was no such hiding place on Monday at Carrington.
Ten Hag, according to the Manchester Evening News, arrived at 7am to prepare to see his players two hours later as Casemiro, Alejandro Garnacho and David de Gea, who covered his face from cameras, led the miserable stars arriving.
De Gea and his defenders had a miserable day, conceding seven goals and Luke Shaw followed the lead of his goalkeeper by bowing his mirror to avoid being snapped by photographers.
Not since 1931 have United been humbled 7-0 and so Ten Hag will be eager to wipe the slate clean ahead of a crucial Europa League first leg against Real Betis on Thursday.
