Kick Boksing: Beot hopes to keep SEA Games gold medal

March 25, 2023

“I am determined to do my best to keep the SEA Games gold medal.” The Cambodian national team player Kick Boksing hopes to be so determined as Cambodia hosts the 32nd SEA Games in 2023.

In a live interview with the media on March 23, 2023 at the Old Stadium, Beot Sangkum alias Touch Rachan expressed his confidence in defending his gold medal in the 57kg Kickboxing event. G. Hope to win a gold medal in this weight category at the SEA Games in Vietnam.

Hopefully, he has such confidence because he has a lot of training, a lot of experience from coaches who provide strategies as well as how to score points from opponents. On the other hand, it has already gone through one competition in Vietnam, which makes him still confident in defending his medal.

“My training is every day,” said 27-year-old Kick Boksing. Three times a day (morning, day and night) we practice until closer to the SEA Games, we almost practice Saturday-Sunday. Hopefully, despite the intense training, it is not a problem because the accommodation in the national team camp is adequate and appropriate. However, weight training is a bit of a problem, but I still believe that there are no serious problems for me as a player.

“For eating in the national team camp, this is enough, there is no shortage, and if you do some difficult weight, weight 57 is not very difficult if we do it little by little.” Despite the intense training, Rachan showed a strong position that he did not lose strength.

The first 2021 SEA Games gold medalist, Kick Boksing, will be the first to defend his medal in the 57kg category at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. He hopes to win the gold medal at the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam by defeating Thai Arunno Sivapan.
