34-year-old Jordi Alba has only started playing 14 La Liga matches in 2022/23 compared to 30 seasons ago Which is largely thanks to sharing time on the field with young talented player Alejandro Balde.

Since his departure yet to arrive last month, Alba has openly said he wants to stay. Three continued his record, but it was completed with a contract on both sides, and the left-hander said he considered it the right thing to do.

Alba explains to Marca radio:

“Whenever I said I wanted to stay, it was because I felt it. If I was selfish, I could stay.

I have a one-year contract and a year of continuing options, but if evaluating everything, the situation loses prominence on the field, even when I play I feel better.

I think it’s the best time to leave; I think I’m doing well. You never want to leave Barcelona, but I think it’s the right time and an opportunity.”
