In the opening match on May 1, the Cambodian men’s and women’s hockey teams lost respectively. The women’s team lost to Malaysia 7-1 while the men lost to Indonesia 9-1. In the other men’s doubles, Indonesia beat Singapore 7-0 while Thailand beat the Philippines 13-0. The Thai women’s team beat the Philippines 8-0 and Malaysia beat Singapore 8-0.
For the second meeting, the women’s indoor event will start at 11:45 a.m. between the Philippines and Malaysia before Indonesia take on Singapore at 2:15 p.m. The last meeting of Cambodia is against Thailand at 4:45.
The Malaysian men’s team continues to meet the Philippines at 1pm before the match between Thailand and Indonesia at 3:30 pm. The Cambodian men’s team will face Singapore at 6pm for the second leg.
Hockey, which is included in the 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia, has four disciplines, including two women’s disciplines, including Field Hockey and Indoor Hockey. The men’s division also competes in these two disciplines.
Hockey has already been included in two Southeast Asian Games, the 29th SEA Games 2017 in Malaysia with three disciplines (indoor and outdoor) and the 30th 2019 in the Philippines. There are 2 disciplines (indoor and ice). For Cambodia, participated for the first time in 2019 in the women’s indoor event in 5 countries, while the results of the competition ended up standing in 5th place after 4 matches, never won 1 draw and lost 3.
