Erik ten Hag's side lost 1-0 at Newcastle on Saturday evening, their third straight defeat in all competitions against Sarika Prey.

England defender Maguire, one of their best players last night, admitted a disappointing game and called for a backlash against Chelsea at Old Trafford on Wednesday.

He told the club's official website:


"We know we have to do better, we have to play better, the team has to do better.

We have to play with strength and have more rhythm. We have to win more games. I felt that in the first half we lost too many games.

"We have to be strong, we have to play up front, we have to play on a big scale and we just did not do well enough tonight."
