The 2023 SEA Games-ASEAN Para Games torch arrived in Malaysia on the morning of April 6 after leaving East Timor earlier in the day. The torch is scheduled to be kept at the Cambodian Embassy in Malaysia for five nights before the parade in Kuala Lumpur on April 11.
The Parade of Sports and Fireworks around Southeast Asia, led by Mr. Hor Sarun, Vice Chairman of the Opening and Closing Ceremony of the 2023 SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games and Special Envoy of CAMSOC, arrived safely in Kuala Lumpur. Mr. Ouk Chandara, Ambassador of Cambodia to Malaysia, together with Mr. Datuk Mohd Nasir, Chairman of the Mission and Member of the Executive Committee of the National Olympic Committee of Malaysia.
Malaysia is the fifth country after Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia and East Timor to host the SEA Games fireworks among the 11 Southeast Asian countries.
According to the AKP news agency, the fire and torch will be kept at the Cambodian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for five nights before the official parade, scheduled for April 11.
Subsequent countries that will receive the torch relay include Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, and finally Laos before returning to Cambodia through the Stung Treng border crossing, passing through the provinces bordering the Tonle Sap Lake before arriving in Phnom Penh to enter. Hold the Techo Heritage National Stadium on April 28.
