Erling Haaland reveals name of the most austere defender he has met in the Premier League this season

Last summer, the Norwegian striker joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund in a deal worth 52 million pounds. Since then he has scored left, right and centre goals while enchanting his early battle in English football.

So far, Haaland has scored 52 goals in 52 games in all competitions, including a record 36 goals in the Premier League. The 22-year-old has been scared by a defender, but Haaland has now named the most austere opponent he has met this season.

Speaking to BT Sport prior to the Champions League final, he was questioned on the subject by Manchester United’s former defender Rio Ferdinand.

Haaland said:

“The hardest we fought at Anfield, I remember Van Dijk I always talked about him, I thought he was very good. But the good thing was also I met Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji, Nathan Ake in training every day. Training is not easy; but Van Dijk I like him very much; he’s smart quickly and in the air, he is unbelievable.”
