Kevin De Bruyne has revealed he has had injuries throughout the stages of Manchester City’s stunning three wins. De Bruyne was not on the field while Man City finished a stunning season by winning the Champions League on Saturday, having suffered a long-standing throat injury.
The Belgian national player was switched off after 35 minutes of a difficult final One Inter Milan team in Istanbul, where Man City went on to defeat 1-0 with a 68th-minute goal from Rodri.
De Bruyne said:
“I give everything for my team and the people in the club know that. I am proud to be able to do what I have done.
I felt okay this week, but I was told two months ago it was a risk.
I did what I had to do. Obvantly I missed some games, but the likes of Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, I did it.
I have some personal things happening with my family, and I have control over it, but here the rope has just been wounded.”
