The Cambodian U22 national football team will go to the Merlion Cup in Singapore from March 24 to 26, 2023. This competition is part of evaluating the quality of players.

The technical officials of the Football Federation of Cambodia recently told the media that the Merlion Cup is a test of their players and team matches to prepare for the SEA Games in Cambodia. In particular, this event is also a test of the tricks of the Cambodian national team before the SEA Games in Cambodia on May 5-17, 2023.

A federal official said: “The U-22 friendly match in Singapore is a part of the evaluation and quality of the players. On the other hand, this is also a test for the U22 team before the SEA Games in Cambodia and also check the team tricks.

The composition of the players to compete in Singapore is the players who went to train in Koh Samui, Thailand. The Football Federation of Cambodia has confirmed on Facebook that the U-22 national team training will last for 16 days from February 27 to March 15, 2023.

Thirty players trained there. Of those 30, only 20 will be eliminated, including the second goalkeeper for the SEA Games in Cambodia.

It should be noted that the Merlion Cup 2023 in Singapore on March 24-26, the national team under 22 years, 4 countries participating, including Cambodia, Malaysia, Hong Kong and host Singapore.
