AFC U20: Cambodian coach tells team to play willingly while Myanmar coach is not ready

March 10, 2023

Prak Wutty, the coach of the Under-20 women’s national football team, did not expect the result for the first match against Myanmar in the AFC U-20 Woman’s Asian Cup. As for SAN San Thein, the Myanmar U-20 women’s national team coach, she is not well prepared for this match because most of the players are high school students who are busy with exams.

Before the match of the Cambodian U-20 women’s team with Myanmar on March 8, 2023 at Smart RSN Stadium at 4:00 pm, Mr. Prak Vuthy confirmed in a press conference that his team was not very prepared just Training is normal, but the athletes have a high spirit and will because they want to compete internationally for the nation. Most Cambodian athletes have experience competing internationally and professionally in the Cambodian Women’s League.

Although the Cambodian U-20 team was very positive in this match, Mr. Prak Vuthy did not underestimate the opponent, believing that the result, win or lose, various incidents can happen in any match. Therefore, this national team coach encourages the team to be careful and play with the will for the national team.

“The team did not prepare much, but what we are interested in is the preparation, well prepared and our team has a good training. We introduced their way of playing. Their will is highly regarded. We can not say the result before the game, but our first match was really difficult. In any match, anything can happen. “We hope and believe in the spirit as well as the will of our team.” Prak Wutty said so.

Meanwhile, SAN San Thein seems to have no confidence in the meeting with Cambodia because the Myanmar U-20 women’s national team is not well prepared for this event. The Myanmar coach confirmed that most of the U-20 women’s teams are busy with exams. So those people may not have much competitive spirit. On the other hand, those athletes do not have much experience in the competition. San Thein is also very cautious with teams in Asean, knowing that women’s football in the region is now booming.

Cambodia was in Group G with Malaysia, Myanmar and Pakistan, but Pakistan withdrew from the tournament. The Cambodian U-20 Women’s National Football Team will play against the Myanmar U-20 Women’s National Football Team at 4:00 pm on March 8, 2023 at Smart RSN Stadium and the second match will be against Malaysia on March 10. 4:00 p.m.
