Rio Ferdinand claims that Lionel Messi unfollowed Alejandro Garnacho on Instagram because the Manchester United striker likes and follows Cristiano Ronaldo openly.

Rio Ferdinand said on the podcast:

"Garnacho told me that Messi unfollowed him because he liked and loved Ronaldo so much."

In April 2022, fans alleged that Messi unfollowed Garnacho's Instagram account for posting pictures of Ronaldo and calling the Portuguese star the greatest player of all time.

It comes just three weeks after Garnacho posted a picture of himself with Messi, calling the Argentine captain an 'idol'.

Today, Messi continues to unfollow Garnacho's Instagram, despite the Manchester United star following him.
