Newcastle United have confirmed that midfielder Sandro Tonali is being investigated by the Italian prosecutor’s office and the Italian Football Federation for illegal betting. The 23-year-old is cooperating with the investigation and was recently withdrawn from an Italian training camp.

"Tonali and his family will continue to have the full support of the club," the club added in a statement. Sandro and Newcastle have not been named.
Tonali joined Newcastle from AC Milan in July for លាន 55 million.
