Abroad: Cristiano Ronaldo has been celebrating ‘Siiuu’ for most of his career, but where does this celebration come from?

In a 2019 interview with YouTube channel SOCCER.COM Ronaldo explained why he did this celebratory style. “It’s normal – to be honest, I did it unconsciously,” Ronaldo said.

And from then on I started doing it all the time and I felt the fans were interested in it because when they saw me they shouted ‘Cristiano, Siiuuu!’

“I’m starting to get surprised when people are reminded of Cristiano because of Siiuuu! ‘So it’ s good that I do it forever.”
