Manchester United are smarter after a lucky 3-0 win over Bournemouth, according to Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils are level on points with third-placed Newcastle United in the Premier League, five points behind fifth-placed Tottenham, while Casemiro, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford each scored at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils look set to advance to the top four after winning four consecutive league games.

But seeing David de Gea make a good save to stop Philip Billing and Jaidon Anthony in United’s 2-0 win, Ten Hag was disappointed with what he felt was a lack of control.

He said:

“I am just happy with the result. Today it is not our best match. We have to be honest, we did not play well as a team.

We scored great goals but sometimes we were really lucky and we had some great saves from David. We can be smarter to play as a team. ”
